Basic Settings

Adjust the brightness of the LCD screen.

Select On to mute sounds such as those emitted when pressing buttons on the control panel.

Speciify how long the printer waits to enter sleep mode (energy saving mode) if it has not been used. The LCD screen turns black during sleep mode.

Reduces power consumption even further than the standard sleep mode. (The default setting is Off.)

When Energy Saving Priority Mode is set to On, pressing the power button will resume the operation.

Your product may have this feature or the Power Off Settings feature depending on the location of purchase.

Select this setting to turn the printer off automatically when it is not used for a specified period of time. You can adjust the time before power management is applied. Any increase will affect the product’s energy efficiency. Please consider the environment before making any change.

This setting is disabled when an optional ethernet board or multiple fax boards are installed.

Enter the current date and time.

You can use this setting if you have added a shortcut icon that loads presets for copying or scanning to the home screen. Copying or scanning starts immediately by just tapping the shortcut icon on the home screen.

Change the background color of the LCD screen.

You can also select a background image from a memory device. Only JPEG format is supported.

Change the background color of the top screen for each function.

Change the layout of the items displayed on the Copy screen. You can still restore the default layout after making changes.

Select On to return to the initial screen when no operations have been performed for the specified time. When user restrictions have been applied and no operations are performed for the specified time, you are logged out and returned to the initial screen. When printing is paused from the status monitor or by using the cancel or stop button, and then no operations are performed for the specified time, printing resumes automatically. If you select Off for this feature, it does not automatically resume after printing has been paused.

Change the layout of the keyboard on the LCD screen.

Key repetition is a method for entering characters repeatedly when a key is pressed and held. When a longer key repetition interval is set, the entering speed is faster. When Off is set, key repetition does not occur when you press and hold a key.

Select the default information you want to display when you tap Job/Status.

Select On to enable animation effects when switching screens. If you select Off, screen switching is faster.

Set the priority for auto detecting paper size.

The ADF, scanner glass, and paper sources (such as the paper cassettes) are equipped with sensors that automatically detect the size of the paper. However, due to the characteristics of the sensors, similar sizes cannot be identified, and K size paper, which is mainly used in China, cannot initially be recognized correctly. Select K Size Priority if you often use K size paper. The original size will be recognized as K size instead of the approximate size, although depending on the size and orientation of the paper, it may be detected as another approximate size. Also, K size may not be automatically detected depending on the function you are using. For example, when scanning and saving to a computer using an application, K size detection depends on the behavior of the application software. This setting is not available for the U.S., Canada, or Latin America.

Displays a warning when an original has been left on the scanner glass after copying or scanning from the printer's control panel is complete and the document cover is closed. This function may not work correctly depending on the thickness of the original.
