Packet Filtering

If a specified number of malicious packets is detected with a set period, the device enters a system error state.

  1. On a computer connected to the same network as the printer, open a browser and enter the printer's IP address.

    You can check the printer's IP address using the following menu.

    • Network connected to the printer's built-in LAN port
      Settings > General Settings > Network Settings ( > Standard) > Network Status > Wired LAN/Wi-Fi Status
    • Network connected to an optional Ethernet board
      Settings > General Settings > Network Settings > Additional > Network Status > Wired LAN Status
    • Network connected to the Wireless LAN Interface-P1
      Settings > General Settings > Network Settings >Network Status > Wired LAN/Wi-Fi Status
  2. Enter the administrator password to log in as an administrator.

  3. Select the following menu.

    Network Security tab > Packet Filtering

  4. Select enable or disable for Packet Filtering. If you select enable, enter values ​​for the following items:

    • Malicious Packet Detection Duration:
      Enter a value from 30 to 14,400 minutes.
    • Malicious Packet Detection Count:
      Enter a value from 4 to 100 times.
  5. Click Next.

    A confirmation message is displayed.

  6. Click OK.

    The printer is updated.
