Using the Control Panel

Control panel buttons and lights
You can control simple printer operations—such as advancing paper to the tear-off position, form feeding, loading and ejecting paper, cleaning the print head, and canceling print jobs—with the buttons on the control panel. The control panel lights show the printer’s status.

GP-C800

GP-M800

1. Cover light
On when the right/left ink cartridge cover or top cover is open.
2. Left ink light (K)
Flashes when ink is low.
On when an ink cartridge has reached its replacement time or when the left ink cartridge cover is closed with an ink cartridge not installed.
3. On light
On when the printer is turned on.
Flashes when receiving data and during print head cleaning.
4. On button
Turns the printer on.
Turns the printer off when pressed for three seconds.
5. Paper light
On when no paper is loaded or when paper is not loaded correctly.
Flashes when the paper failed to eject or a paper jam has occurred.
6. Cleaning button
Cleans the print head when pressed for three seconds.
7. Tear Off light
On when continuous paper is in the tear-off position.
Flashes when the printer is in Micro Adjust mode.
8. Tear Off button
Advances continuous paper to the tear-off position.
Feeds continuous paper backward from the tear-off position to the top-of-form position.
9. FF button
Inserts a page break.
10. Load/Eject button
Loads continuous paper from the standby position.
Feeds continuous paper backward to the standby position.
11. Pause light
On when the printer is paused.
Flashes when the printer is in Micro Adjust mode.
12. Pause button
Stops printing temporarily, and resumes printing when pressed again. When pressed for three seconds or more, the printer enters Micro Adjust mode*. The printer exits the mode when pressed again.
13. Job Cancel button
Cancels the print job when pressed for three seconds or more when the printer is paused.
14. Right ink light (Y, M, C) (GP-C800)
Flashes when ink is low.
On when an ink cartridge has reached its replacement time or when the right ink cartridge cover is closed with an ink cartridge not installed.
15. Right ink light (K) (GP-M800)
Flashes when ink is low.
On when an ink cartridge has reached its replacement time or when the right ink cartridge cover is closed with an ink cartridge not installed.
* Micro Adjust mode: When you hold down the Pause button for three seconds, the printer enters Micro Adjust mode. In this mode, you can press the FF and Load/Eject buttons to adjust the top-of-form or tear-off position. For more information, see Adjusting the top-of-form position.
