Scan Settings Screen

This screen allows you to make settings such as resolution and more detailed settings using EPSON Scan/Epson Scan 2.

For some functions, the details of the settings made in EPSON Scan/Epson Scan 2 are displayed next to the function name or selected item.

Some items and settings may not be available depending on the scanner you are using.

Explanation

Scan Setting Name

Allows you to check your pre-saved scan settings or save your current settings.

Source

Select the source according to the model being used.

Auto Detect/Auto Detect - Single-sided/Auto Detect - Double-sided: Automatically detects and configures the device for scanning. When originals are loaded into the ADF, scanning is performed from the ADF.

Scanner Glass: Scans from the scanner glass.

ADF/ADF - Single-sided/ADF - Double-sided: Scanning is performed from the ADF.

Document Size

Select the size of the original loaded in the scanner.

Image Type

Set the number of colors for the original being scanned.

BW: Scans in binary black and white.

Gray: Scans in 8 bit (256 gradation) gray.

Color: Scans in 24 bit color (approx. 16,770,000 colors).

Auto: Scans by automatically adjusting to the color of the original. This is not displayed if the scanner does not support Auto.

Rotation

Rotates the original.

Auto rotates the image automatically to match the text direction of the original (only available for specific models). The orientation of the original may not be determined correctly because it is determined through image processing. You can change the operation performed when executing Auto from Detailed Settings.

Resolution

Sets the resolution.

Text Enhancement (only available for specific models)

Corrects outlines when scanning the original to make text easier to read.

Correct Document Skew (only available for specific models)

Corrects skewed originals. You can change the operation performed when executing Correct Document Skew from Detailed Settings.

Skip Blank Page (only available for specific models)

Detects blank pages in an original and skips them.

Detect Double Feed (only available for specific models)

Set to display a warning when multiple originals are fed at the same time.

Detailed Settings (only available for specific models)

Make detailed settings for scanning such as the scanning resolution. The scanner driver screen opens. After you have changed the settings, click Save.

Show the preview while scanning

Displays the preview screen during scanning.

This is enabled by default.

Show the confirmation dialog after scanning

Displays a confirmation message asking if you want to continue scanning after completing a scan.

This is disabled by default.
