The loadable size varies depending on the type of the originals, the scanning resolution, and the scanning method.
All originals should be flat if possible.
If there is curling on the leading edges of the originals, make sure the curling meets the following conditions:
If the originals curl upward, 
must be 5 mm (0.2 in.) or less.
If the originals curl downward and 
is 1 mm (0.04 in.) or less, 
must be greater than or equal to .
If the originals curl downward and is more than 1 mm (0.04 in.) must be at least 10 times greater than .
Even when the originals meet the specifications for originals that can be placed in the ADF, they may not feed depending on the paper properties or quality, or the scan quality may be lower than expected.
For these types of originals, use the scanner glass.
