Position of Scanner

You can change the position of the scanner according to the usage.

Caution:

Be careful not to pinch your fingers or any cables when you change the position of the scanner. Injury or damage may occur.

Vertical path position

When scanning multiple sheets of standard-size originals, or when scanning thin paper or receipts, pull the scanner position selector to tilt the scanner forward into the vertical path position. When scanning in the vertical path position, originals loaded in the input tray are ejected to the output tray at the top of the scanner.

When the vertical path position is changed, the scanner position icon on the control panel changes to .

Straight path position

When scanning thick originals such as passports, pull the scanner position selector to tilt the scanner backward to the straight path position. When scanning in the straight path position, originals loaded in the input tray are ejected to the output slot at the front of the scanner.
