Adjusting the Print Quality

If you notice blank pages being ejected, misaligned vertical lines, blurred images, or horizontal banding, try Print Quality Adjustment.

Important:

Head cleaning may be necessary after performing Print Quality Adjustment. Check the following items when performing head cleaning.

  • Head cleaning consumes ink and should not be performed more than necessary.

  • When ink is low, you may not be able to clean the print head.

  • Do not turn off the printer during head cleaning. If the head cleaning is incomplete, you may not be able to print.

  1. Install Epson Smart Panel from the following URL or QR code.

    https://support.epson.net/smpdl/

  2. Start Epson Smart Panel.

  3. Follow the instructions in the Epson Smart Panel to connect the printer to your mobile device.

  4. After the connection is complete, select your printer's icon on the home screen.

  5. Select Print Quality Adjustment (auto adjust print quality) from the Maintenance Menu.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to print and capture the adjustment pattern from your mobile device.

    Adjustments are performed automatically.

    Note:
    • Automatic adjustment may fail depending on mobile device performance.

    • Capturing the adjustment pattern correctly may allow the automatic adjustment process to succeed. Ensure the following conditions:

      • The shooting environment is appropriate (sufficient brightness, no shadows, and the pattern is placed on a non-patterned surface).

      • The mobile device is held steadily to prevent camera shake. Although blur detection is used, it does not guarantee 100% accuracy.

      • The mobile device has sufficient memory and storage available during processing.

    • Depending on the version of the application you are using, the screen layout, button names, and operation procedures may differ from the descriptions shown in this manual.
