You can change the main administrator password using Web Config.
Changing the password avoids unauthorized reading or modification of the information stored on the device, such as ID, password, network settings, contacts, etc. It also reduces a wide range of security risks, such as information leaks in network environments and security policies.
On a computer connected to the same network as the printer, open a browser and enter the printer's IP address.
You can check the printer's IP address using the following menu.
Enter the administrator password to log in as an administrator.
Select the following menu.
Product Security tab > Administrator Settings > Change Administrator Password
Enter the current password in Current password.
Enter the administrator's user name in User Name.
If you want to authenticate using the administrator's username and password, enter the User Name.
Enter the new password in New Password and in Confirm New Password.
Register or update the administrator's email address if necessary.
Enabling Register Administrator Email Address allows you to register or update the administrator's email address.
If you register an administrator email address in advance, you can recover your authentication information if you forget it. You may need to contact Epson Support for recovery if no email address is registered.
Enter the email address you want to register or update in the New Administrator Email Address and Confirm New Administrator Email Address fields.
To use the function to recover your authentication information, you must configure your email server first.
Click OK .
To restore the administrator password to the initial password, click Restore Default Settings on the Change Administrator Password screen.
