Generate PDF/A File |
Creates PDFs that conform to PDF/A-1 standards (data for long-term archiving of electronic documents). When you select this function, the Compression Level is fixed at Standard Compression. Also, you cannot set items on the Security tab. |

Searchable PDF* |
Select this check box to create a searchable PDF file. Set the Resolution (output resolution) between 200 dpi and 400 dpi. This function may increase scanning processing time. Select the language used for recognizing text in searchable PDFs in Text Language. Note:
If you are using a multifunction device that supports DCP Enhanced OCR, you can purchase a DCP Enhanced OCR license to take advantage of even higher quality conversion features when creating PDFs containing searchable text. See the following for more information on DCP Enhanced OCR. |

Create file with all pages |
Save all pages as one file. |

Paper Size |
Select the paper size for the PDF to be created. |

Orientation |
Select the orientation for the PDF to be created. |

Margin |
Specify the margins for the PDF to be created. |

Compression Level |
Select the compression level for color or gray images. When you select Generate PDF/A File, you cannot set the Compression Level (it is fixed at Standard Compression). |

When Actual Image Size is selected in Paper Size, you cannot set the Orientation/Margin.

Depending on your scanner, you may not be able to use Searchable PDF unless the EPSON Scan OCR Component is installed.
