Installing Ink Cartridges

1  When instructed to install the ink cartridges, open the scanner unit.

Important:

Do not touch the white cable inside the printer.

2  Gently shake the ink cartridges four or five times, and then remove the cartridges from their packages.

Note:

  • For the initial setup, make sure you use the ink cartridges that came with this printer. These cartridges cannot be saved for later use.

  • Do not touch the sections shown in the illustration of the cartridge.

3  Remove only the yellow tape from the cartridges.

4  Insert the ink cartridge and press it down firmly. Repeat this step to insert all ink cartridges.

Note:

Make sure all the cartridges are aligned.

5  Close the scanner unit slowly.

6  Press the button on the printer to start charging the ink. Go straight to the next step. It is not necessary to wait for the ink to finish charging.

Important:

  • Do not turn off the printer until ink charging is finished. The home screen is displayed when ink charging is finished.

  • The initial ink cartridges will be partly used to charge the print head. These cartridges may print fewer pages compared to subsequent ink cartridges.
